| It may be an idea to
have
something kept in a large pot to begin with because families with young children will
often move within a few years to a bigger home. In fact this is
almost inevitable at some point and so you don't want the gift to end up in other
peoples hands, having no eventual meaning for the recipient.
Another suggestion would be to find a place nearby such as a Park
or Village Green that might allow a tree to be planted there
(planning permission will almost certainly be needed for this).
Can you imagine the sense of pride in ten or twenty years time at
being able to tell friends "this tree was planted as a celebration
of my Christening". Fantastic, an object of affection that
engenders a sense of
belonging. Another idea could be to plant it in the Grandparents property.
They are most likely to be settled by now and in this way they
could enjoy it too.
